When the last ball decides who would be the winner, its a match totally based on luck and so was the final match of Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series at the R.Premadasa Stadium.

In an amazing performance, the wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik stole the show, with his 29 runs out of only eight balls at the end which helped India defeat Bangladesh by four wickets to win the trophy. The match took a dramatic twist in the last over when India needed 5 runs in the last ball. Karthik hit a flat six over extra cover.

Post-match, Karthik said he has been practicing the strikes. He also said that he realized it was not an easy game the way, Mustafizur bowled in that over, and the need for boundaries was a must.

Karthik said that he’s happy about his performance and the way they played the game with a young team of enthusiast players. He said the entire team played so well, it wouldn’t have been just if they failed to win the trophy.

Chasing 167, captain Rohit Sharma (56) again took the lead from the front with his classy knock but failed to finish off till the end. Mid-order batsman Manish Pandey (28) played good innings but got dismissed when needed the most. And then it was Karthik’s moment and the day was won by the Indian team.
